Tintof

a.k.a. Rubén Evangelista

They were born in 1989 in La Creu de Barberà —a peripheral neighbourhood of Sabadell, a suburban city near Barcelona— but currently reside in Madrid. They are an artist, illustrator, and designer. They gained recognition on social media between 2018 and 2024 through their instagram account Mother of Queer!↗, where they illustrated and wrote from a queer perspective, creating comic strips that combined humour and illustration. Among other works, they illustrated the book “Anatomy of a Fly” (2022)↗ and gave a TED Talk titled Art as a Refuge for the LGBTQ+ Community (2023)↗.

Throughout their creative career, they have participated in various social causes, most of them connected to the LGBTQ+ community, collaborating with organisations such as CESIDA, Apoyo Positivo, COGAM, Imagina Más, and Plataforma Trans.

Their creativity stems from identity, shaping works that challenge how we see the world through our own gaze. This is the origin of the nickname Tintof↗, taken from the work of Ursel Scheffler, through which they began creating in 2025.
